The CAD is trading at virtually the same level as we saw yesterday morning after choppy overnight trade. No fundamentals to report on out of Canada until tomorrow’s second tier NHPI numbers are released in the AM. Crude is trading just over the $53 level after inventories posted a build of 2.9M barrels compared to the expected 1.8M barrel build.
The USD is up slightly but still trading well within the range we have seen lately as further trade talks are awaited by investors as well as the FOMC meeting minutes later on this morning. News was light and mixed with Final Wholesales Sales numbers reporting at 0.2% vs. 0.4% and JOLTS Job Openings missing the 7.35M expectation slightly coming in at 7.05M.
The Euro traded up in overnight trade and through the European session based on broad based USD weakness as well as optimistic news on Brexit. These gains are expected to remain through today’s session.
