The CAD is quiet to open the week and is trading flat from the close on Friday. News is very quiet this week out of Canada with no major releases scheduled. Any significant movement will likely be due to overall sentiment as well as reaction to the ongoing trade war between the US and China.
The USD is trading sideways this morning with no fundamental releases to report on as of yet today. The Federal Budget Balance will be released at 12:00 GMT but is unlikely to provide any basis for a large movement. Tomorrow’s CPI data headlines the AM news releases.
The Euro is trading near the mid-point of its recent range after a choppy close out of the week last week. No fundamentals out of the Eurozone either today has the EUR starting the week off very uneventfully. German CPI numbers as well as ZEW economic sentiment are released in the AM tomorrow.
Equities are down across the board this morning: the Dow down 0.80%, the S&P down 0.49%, NASDAQ down 0.70% and the TSX down 0.09%. Crude Oil is up 0.05% this morning (54.53) while Gold is also up 0.50% ($1,504.49).
