The CAD has softened to this week’s lows with positive numbers out of the US weighing on the CAD. No news to report on today is leaving most movement due to overall sentiment and investor position adjustments. Tomorrow’s Bank of Canada rate announcement and press conference will headline the AM releases.
The USD is strong and has made solid gains off of yesterday’s lows. News was mixed with New Home Sales coming in well ahead of the 647K forecast at 692K. The Richmond Manufacturing Index was a disappointing miss reporting a 3 vs. the expected 10.
The Euro is quiet and trading within the same trading range we saw at this time yesterday. No first tier Eurozone releases however fiscal data from 2018 is pointing to less overall government debt. Range bound trade is expected in the short term.
